South Africa Dive Safari
2025
This coming January/February 2025 we at CW Azores are organizing a specially
tailored expedition for all ocean enthusiasts to Cape Town, South Africa!
On this trip, we will set out to explore the great African kelp forest of False Bay,
venture offshore the notorious Cape of Good Hope in search of pelagic sharks,
dive with the Cape fur seals on the Atlantic side of the peninsula and search for
an array of other animals big and small, on land and underwater!
OUR BASE
We will be based in the charismatic and historic Simon's Town, a safe little town
situated 45 minutes from Cape Town international airport, well known for the
Boulders beach penguin colony, rich navy history and picturesque architecture!
We will stay in the AHA Quayside Hotel, which boasts a panoramic view over
Simon's Town harbour, where most of our trips will be launched. It is within
walking distance to the Shark Explorers dive centre and nestled in between an
array of great restaurants and bars.
WHY CAPE TOWN?
Diving around Cape town is spectacular and diverse, on the diving days we will visit
different dive sites in search of multiple shark species, rays and fish life. The cold
water reefs are surprisingly colourful and exploring the kelp forest underwater is an
experience that you will never forget!
On land, Cape Town is also rich in culture, wildlife and great cuisine, this is ideal for
dry days and contributes to an already exciting trip!
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
This trip is open for both scuba divers and freedivers.
Strong watermanship is a great way to get the most out of this trip
and scuba divers need to have at least their PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent
certification.
